Turquoise and Jewels

Happy New Year!!!
I am very excited about the 2012 blog year! If you didn't know, we have been building a home in Alabama (Sweet Home Alabama), and it is ready...too bad we are not! Due to some health issues and upcoming procedures, we have to delay our return home. However, that does not keep me from doing some long distance decorating. Oh what fun we will have when I get to do a home tour, and decorate room by glorious room...with ya'll!!! Until then I will continue to pick up CL finds, paint, decoupage, and repurpose whatever I can get my hands on.
Now, on to a curbside rescue...
I found this rocker on the curb, just begging to be rescued! My plan was to paint it white and save it for the screened in porch....
Why would anyone
throw this away?
Just needed a home
Well, as it turns out I have no place to keep this thing cute little rocker! Don't get me wrong, I like it, but when you have limited space (1200 sq ft) some things have to go! Did I mention that we live with my precious mom....who already has a house full of HER treasures. My junk treasures are banished to the garage and space comes at a premium. You get the picture?...Anyhow,   I decided to part with my rocker....on to CL she went! Guess what?!....Nobody wanted her, not even at $10. What is wrong with people anyway?
Hey! What is wrong with me...I am a crafter, a repurposer, a creative genius gal....I can make this chair a......???? What?
Modern art? Letter art?....You will have to wait to see what I did with most of it, but I did make something for my daughter with one part....Take a look...

All the many pieces!
Back of chair...
Primed
The chair came apart (and Cliff says, so did my sanity)...I primed the back and began the process of creating something...anything!
Next I grabbed my daughter's favorite color....turquoise, and got to work!

Love Turquoise!
Valspar has THE BEST
Spray Paint EVER!
This is NOT a paid endorsement (they don't even know I'm alive), but after using many, many, many spray paints, I have to say that Valspar has em' all beat...Hands down!!
This stuff sprays like a dream...smooth, even spray with no "spits"....covers great too!!
Okay, the unpaid endorsement is done....go buy some though, you will love it!
Valspar "Exotic Spa"

After my dreamy paint job....I added some bling from one of Amelia's silky scarfs...

Turquoise Leopard
Gotta love hot glue!
So do you know what it is?  Kinda obvious huh?
Well I have seen many "frame" jewelry holders on Pinterest, so why not a chair...it already has the holes!

Love this Combination
Jewels added
Amelia loves it....isn't that what counts!

Turquoise and Jewels!
Bling!
Now it is your turn....do you like it? I thought about adding a bow, but 11 year old tweens DO NOT like bows! Would you add anything? I love each and every one of your comments, so let me know what you think.
Ohh! Don't forget to follow me so you can see what the rest of the rocker becomes....

Hey, thanks for stopping by and leaving a cute comment. Yes, cute...you made me laugh! I do have a lot of lamps to make :) Or something else exciting! I already have a couple of friends who would like the extras so I'm not worried about that. Just not sure I want to part with them yet. It might be fun to think of other uses and those bottles are the absolute most gorgeous color!
BTW, just wanted to tell you that I really, really like your blog header and design. Very pretty indeed.

Turned out just fabulous! If you feel it needs something else (which is totally up to you, looks great as it is) my tween loves the bling of crystals! I have got to give you some major credit... I don't think I would have had the vision to use the chair back as a jewelry holder! Go girl!!!!!!!

It turned out really cute! Love the blue with the leopard print. If you still want to add a bow--maybe make it black.. I think even my 20 somethings would like that! Thanks for linking this post to Share the Love Wednesday; hope you'll be back this week!
