Red Wreath

Hi Ya'll, are you ready for Christmas? I usually decorate the day after Thanksgiving, but this year has been a blur. Work schedules, school, family illness and "life stuff", put me so far behind! However, I did get inspiration from all my fellow bloggers, which spurred me on. Speaking of inspiration, I loved the mantel from Decor Chick. Since my budget did not allow this wreath,  I decided to make one myself. Come on and follow along...
 My supply list includes:

  • Dollar tree wreath ($1)
  • Dollar tree table runners ($5)
  • Hot glue (got that $0)
  • Old pair of sweat pants (or whatever you have on hand) ($0)
  • Total spent....$6

Twine Wreath
Table Runner
The wreath was a little uneven so I decided to cover it. After looking around I found a pair of sweat pants that my husband won't wear, since they shrunk (or so he says...LOL)

What's left of the sweat pants
Wreath wrapped in sweats
Cut sweats into strips, wrap around wreath and hot glue....Done and DONE!
To make the rosettes, I used a glass to make perfect circles on the table runner...
Round n' round
Mark it then cut em' out
After cutting out all the circles, I pinched the center of each circle and stitched it to keep it in place.
Cut, pinch, stitch and....TAA DAA...a rosette!

Now all I had to do was glue, glue, glue!
Notice my blistered finger?
This is one HOT gun!

The result...a beautiful red wreath for $6....Mouse over for Before and After

Tell me what you think....really, tell me!

I'm wondering if I need a bow...whataya think? I haven't got the stockings up yet, but you get the idea.

To bow or not to bow?
Blitzen loves it!
Love Red
Love Wreath

As I continue to decorate for Christmas, I find joy in the simplicity of my Salvation....a free gift for me, from my Heavenly Father. This free gift is for everyone who will accept it.  May you all cherish your free gift, and find joy in the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Oh Em Gee, I love it. I love that it's upcycled material, and it came out so great. What if you tied a ribbon around it, so you don't have to fully commit to it and can change it up? From the pics the dark red color could even work for fall maybe with a brown ribbon and leaves. Great project!
