Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...Vintage Clock to Mirror

A while back I was checking out all my favorite blogs, and I ran across this fabulous diy project over at Worthing Court.  Suzy made this great convex mirror...
Don't ya just love it? I love how it turned out, so of course I had to make one for the new house....if I ever get there! I couldn't find a convex mirror locally, so I purchased one online for about $20 with shipping.
Now that my budget was dwindling I had to find a cheaper option for the frame. I picked up this broken vintage clock at a yard sale for $1, and took it apart to make the perfect frame.
I wasn't a big fan of the gold, so I grabbed a can of Satin Nickel from Rustoleum. It took the whole can to cover all the intricate detail...but, well worth it.
Next, I took the mirror apart to fit it on the new frame...it didn't fit!  The mirror was small enough, but that wasn't the problem. The edges of the mirror showed, and it just didn't look right...New plan!
I decided to repeat the beaded look around the mirror with... what else, beads!
All they needed was a little paint...
Once the beads were painted, I just needed to put everything together. First, I used epoxy to glue the mirror to its new frame...
Finally, I added the beads around the mirror edge with a little super glue...
I am pretty happy with the end result...now I just have to find a place to put it until the move. We have lots of empty nails on the walls at this point so I guess it will go on one of those for now.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and if you have a minute please leave a comment. I really enjoy hearing what y'all think.

That is absolutely gorgeous! It did not look so good as a clock, but it is awesome as a mirror!
